Born and trained in Cologne (Köln), Germany, Birgit Brühl is a ceramic artist and educator with a strong background in both traditional craftsmanship and contemporary ceramics. After completing a full ceramic apprenticeship and receiving her Journeyman’s Certificate, she went on to study Fine Arts and Ceramics, earning a Diploma before completing a Master’s degree at Statens Høgskole for Kunsthåndverk og Design in Bergen.

Birgit has extensive teaching experience and has worked for many years as a ceramics educator through Bergen Kulturskole, Voksenopplæringen, and a wide range of workshops and courses. Her teaching combines solid technical knowledge with a supportive and hands-on approach, encouraging students to develop both confidence and personal expression through clay.

With a particular interest in wheel throwing and ceramic form, Birgit emphasizes detailed demonstrations, individual guidance, and technical understanding throughout her courses. She teaches in English, Norwegian, and German.
