Curious about trying the pottery wheel? Join us for a relaxed 3 hour taster session where you will learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing and create up to two finished pieces. This class is perfect for complete beginners and requires no prior experience.

A small note
Throwing on the wheel takes time, patience and practice. Many beginners make one or two pieces, and sometimes even just one. Please do not be harsh on yourself. The goal is to learn, explore and enjoy the experience.

What you will do
Learn how to centre clay and throw simple cylinders which are ideal shapes for cups and small vases
Add a handle if you wish to turn your piece into a mug
Explore decorations and textures on your freshly made forms
Decorate your pieces with coloured slips
We take care of the transparent glossy glaze and both firings for you
